MAN CHARGED TO COURT FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING CELL PHONES AT A "KNIFE POINT"
Mr. Adamu Seidi (23 years old) has been charged to a Chief Magistrates' court in Ikeja for allegedly stealing two cell phones worth N70, 000 at `knife point’ on Thursday.
The prosecutor, Inspector Raji Akeem, told the court that the offences were committed on Aug. 4, at No.19, Dosumu St., Lagos Island. He also stated that the accused and some others at large went to the shop of the complainant, Mrs Ebele Osunkwo, on the guise of buying some goods when they pointed a knife at her and stole her two cell phones worth N70,000. In addition, "they also stole N53,000 from her purse and left. The complainant then raised an alarm and the accused was apprehended," he said. But in all, the accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Jadesola Adeyemi-Ajayi then granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Oct. 3 for mention.
