Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Wednesday, August 15, said that he is under pressure to run for president in 2019. It was reported that he made this statement to different associations of students/youths as well as resident communities who paid him a solidarity visit. Governor Tambuwal who was elected a governor under the APC platform before defecting to PDP further said that he has been receiving advice and encouragements from his leaders, people across the country as well as people from abroad to contest for presidency.
He said, "I have been receiving advice and encouragement from our leaders, peoples across the country and even from abroad to contest for presidency and this pressure is being mounting. It Is not my making but the quantum of pressure from every where because of leadership gap in the country."
In addition, Governor Aminu Tambuwal said that he would make his intention known to the general public in days to come.
