DO'S AND DON'TS WHEN MENSTRUATING....
Menstruation is nothing to be ashamed of. Every female that is yet to experience menopause, menstruates. It is a normal thing that every woman experiences monthly; even the opposite sex know about this. Menstruation comes with cramps that could be mild or severe, depending on the body system. Many ladies especially those with severe menstrual cramps don't know exactly what to do when menstruating and so, I (GodlyDiva) decided to write on the do's and don'ts when menstruating.
DO'S
1. Eat very well: This will help you gain energy despite loosing blood.
2. Drink enough water: This helps in keeping you hydrated, reduces cramps/pains and helps the blood flow well.
3. Choose a comfortable menstrual pad and change regularly. Remember, a pad should be changed every 6-8 hours.
4. Take your bath regularly in other to feel good.
5. Have enough rest. It won't be wise to over work yourself.
6. Use heating pad or place a bottle of hot water directly on the lower abdomen in other to ease menstrual discomforts/pains. This helps alot especially for those that can't afford to miss work regardless of how severe the menstrual cramp is. In addition, you can lay your back on the floor and place your legs up on the wall while on a heating pad or a bottle of hot water.
DON'TS
1. Stay away from sugar or salty foods. Junks containing sugar and salt isn't a wise option. Instead, take vegetables. They help in retaining energy.
2. Avoid wearing white or light colored dresses.
3. Stay away from a heavy work out. A walk will be fine.
4. You don't have to be moody, give excuses and feel depressed. It's not a death sentence.
5. Avoid using a vagina wash. At this point, use clean warm water and the progression should be from vagina to anus in other to prevent an infection.
Furthermore, if you have tried all of these and the pains persist, i suggest you visit a medical practitioner....
